Timesheets and rosters for construction crews.

Crews start early, move between job sites and fill in timesheets on Friday from memory. Crewline records time on site as it happens, so the week’s hours are right before anyone has to guess.

Sound familiar?

Running construction crews without the ring-around.

  • BeforePaper timesheets turn up on Friday, filled in from memory.

With CrewlineWorkers clock in and out on their phone at the job site, and the timesheet builds itself.

  • BeforeNobody’s quite sure who’s on which site today.

With CrewlineThe roster shows who should be where, and the live board shows who’s actually clocked in.

  • BeforeJob site changes get buried in a group chat with every crew in it.

With CrewlineEach site has its own chat that follows the roster, so the update reaches the crew on that job.

Features

How Crewline works for construction crews.

  • Zones for big job sites

New construction sites start with a 300 metre clock-in zone, adjustable per site up to 2 km.

  • Daily start checklist

Signed on, toolbox talk attended, PPE checked, hazards checked: ticked on the phone with the time recorded.

  • Crews across job sites

Roster by person or by site, repeat the week or copy it forward, and let workers accept or decline their shifts.

  • Notes and photos at clock-out

Workers can add a note and up to six photos when they clock out, and share the note to the site chat.

  • Hours by job site

Reports show hours by site and person for any period. Export a payroll-ready CSV when they’re approved.

  • No signal, no problem

Clock-ins save on the phone in basements and new builds, then sync when signal returns.

Checklists

Starter checklists, ready to edit.

Load a template onto any site, change it to suit, and keep up to 40 items. Staff tick items on their phone during the shift.

Pay and awards

Your award’s rates, applied to every hour.

Many on-site workers are covered by the Building and Construction General On-site Award 2020 [MA000020]. Crewline doesn’t include a ready-made template for this award yet. Start from the simple pay rules, enter the rates from the current Fair Work pay guide, and Crewline applies them to every timesheet.

Crewline applies time-based rates: weekends, public holidays, overtime and early or late work. Allowances such as tool and travel allowances aren’t calculated, so add those in your payroll system.

Check the Fair Work pay guides (opens in a new tab)

  • Rates for casual, part-time and full-time staff
  • Early, late and overnight shift rates
  • Saturday, Sunday and public holiday rates
  • Overtime by the day, the week or both
  • Public holidays for each site’s state
  • Pay shown as an estimate until you confirm the rates

FAQ

Construction & trades questions, answered.

More on clock-in privacy, payroll export and pricing in the main FAQ.

Is the daily start checklist a site induction or safety system?

No. It’s a simple checklist your crew ticks on their phone, with the time recorded. It doesn’t replace site inductions, SWMS or your safety management system.

Can I see hours by job site?

Yes. Reports show hours by site and by person for any period, and approved hours export as a CSV with each person’s payroll ID and hours for each pay category.

Does Crewline calculate construction award allowances?

No. Crewline applies the time-based rates you set, such as weekend, public holiday and overtime rates. Allowances aren’t calculated, so add them in your payroll system.
